Pentek Transfer Car Upgrades
- CAR DRIVE: Upgrade the primary car drive from Demag to Eurodrive. Add a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to provide high speed performance and stopping accuracy.
- CONTROL PANEL: Replace existing control panel and enclosure on car with new panel and enclosure; including all new internal components. Replace car positioning device.
- ONBOARD PROCESSOR: Upgrade processor and programs on car from Omron to Allen Bradley SLC5/04. New logic program is provided for all car functions and communications to the floor controllers.
- OPERATOR INTERFACE: Panelview station is added to the car to allow monitoring, trouble shooting of functions, as well as entries of load destinations and positioning alignment with staging lines.
- PATHWAY SENSORS: Remove old style photoeye pathway sensors and mechanical bumpers, and replace with PLS (Pathway Laser Sensors) and cushioned bumpers. The laser scanner monitors the path of the car and has two fields of control. The 10' warning field forces the car to a creep speed when invaded and resumes normal operation when cleared. The 3' "Stop" field, when invaded, initiates an E-Stop condition and forces the car to a stop and drops control power. The cushioned bumper includes a tape switch sensor for detecting obstacles.
- POWER DELIVERY SYSTEM: Provide new simplified overhead buss system with new mast tow bar mechanism; reducing complexity.
- COMMUNICATIONS: Provide new wireless communication between the car controller and the floor controller. This includes the transceivers and interface modules. Reduces complexity of power/control interface with fixed floor controls
